We are very happy that Tatjana’s paper “Paraphrase Strategies in Metaphysics” has been accepted for publication in Philosophy Compass. As is familiar, paraphrase plays a central role in the Quinean picture of metaphysical inquiry, though it is equally familiar that Quine is less than clear on exactly how paraphrase should be understood. In her paper, Tatjana examines some of the choice points facing paraphrase strategists, assessing some prominent worries associated with paraphrase strategies, and relates paraphrasing to some contemporary views in metametaphysics (Sider-style “metaphysical semantics”, Williams-style “reality requirements”).
