Conditionals Workshop

On Friday 4th and Saturday 5th of April, we will be holding the first workshop organized in connection with our Emmy Noether Project. The topic will be philosophical issues raised by conditional/hypothetical talk and thought, and the speakers are:

Dr. Jennifer Carr (Leeds)
Dr. Mirja Holst (Hamburg)
Prof. Hannes Leitgeb (LMU Munich)
Dr. Moritz Schulz (Tübingen)
Prof. Robbie Williams (Leeds)

The workshop will take place in Seminarraum 121, Edmund-Siemers-Allee 1, Westflügel (ESAW). The tentative schedule is as follows:

14.30-16.00: Moritz Schulz: Is there a problem of embeddings for the restrictor view?
16.30-18.00: Mirja Holst: Counterfactuals, Counterfactuals De Re, and Incomplete Descriptions

11.00-12.30: Jennifer Carr: A Puzzle About Iffy “Ought’s”
14.30-16.00: Hannes Leitgeb: Conditionals and Stability
16.30-18.00: Robbie Williams: Chance, Time and Counterfactuals

Attendance is free, but please let us know if you plan to do so, since we need to keep an eye on numbers. Please email both Richard Woodward and Mirja Holst.

There will be a (partially) subsidized dinner on the Saturday evening. If you would like to come, it would be helpful if you could again let us know in advance since we will need to make a reservation.
